Videos and DVDs are pretty cheap to rent here, I think. There is no price difference in most rental places between new and older rentals. Plus my place has a deal some days where you can get 5 DVDs or videos for 1000 yen (8 dollars). I found out Sundays are half-price for anime (cartoons) rentals and dates that end in a 1 or a 5 are half off everything ($1.40/rental). Getting a just released DVD for $1.40 is a pretty good deal, I think. Today ends with a 1, so I might take a trip to the video store to get something for this upcoming week.
