They are paving the road outside now, but at least they are doing the part in front of our house before it gets to be too late at night. It's quite interesting to watch, as they have to dig out the manhole covers quickly once the big machine puts it out. I also opened the window and I can feel the heat rising from the road, despite being two stories up!

Well, for whatever reason they didn't end up paving the road last night, just drilling to raise up the mainhole covers. Currently they seem to be ripping up the road, which has been interesting to watch. They've got a machine that seems to melt the asphalt and then suck it up like a vacuum, depositing it in large trucks. Whether those trucks are able to reuse it or not I'm not clear about yet, but watching that machine from above on the third story has been pretty neat. I wish I had my camera, I could've filmed it.

There seems to be a small group of people gathered outside watching the process, road groupies I would guess.

Soon I think they will be done tearing up the road and spend the rest of the night paving it.

Looks like it will be another fun evening of construction tonight. They have been tearing up the road over and over again to put in various pipes and wires. Tonight they are repaving the street as a result, which will at least mean no more random construction. However, it is annoying as it could be quite loud during the night.
