Recently there has been quite some buzz at school because the neighboring junior high school, Oizumi, had a teacher arrested for some sexual incident with a student (apparently he has confessed to it). I don't know the details, but apparently she got into his car, and something happened. The teacher is in jail now, and the whole school is very embarassed about the whole thing. Apparently the girl lives with her father but didn't tell him because he works all the time. Instead she told her best friend's parents. They told the PTA chairman, who told the father. Supposedly the PTA chairman wanted to try to cover up the incident somehow, but the father didn't want to, and went to the police. One of my teachers from last year is teaching there this year, and it's one of the schools that Sarah worked at last year, so I've been to the school a couple of times. It's write down the street from me. Chinita, the ALT at the school, says things are very uncomfortable in the teachers' office, for obvious reasons. Graduation is coming up in a couple weeks, so I think the mood will be very strained.
