I thought you might find this news story about Sheffield Hallam interesting. It would seem the national ratings system is a bit faulty in its methodology. Not sure we should be number one, but it has to do with teaching quality compared to objectives, rather than academic performance of the students. We do put a lot of effort into improving teaching at the university, so it does make some sense.
